Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Quantitative Analyst for a fully remote role based in South Africa. The successful candidate will design, implement, and validate sophisticated models used in trading, risk management, and portfolio optimization, while leading a team of analysts.

You will drive research into new methodologies, collaborate with trading desks and IT, and ensure robustness, accuracy, and performance of all models across the business. Remote work from anywhere in SA is supported.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field required.
• 7+ years of experience in quantitative analysis in Banking & Finance.
• Proven leadership of quantitative teams.
• Expertise in Python, C++, R.
• Strong knowledge of VaR, CVA and derivatives pricing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate complex quantitative models for pricing, risk management, and hedging strategies.
• Lead and mentor a team of quantitative analysts, fostering high performance and learning.
• Conduct in-depth research into new methodologies and technologies in quantitative finance.
• Collaborate with trading desks, risk management, and IT to implement and deploy quantitative models.
• Ensure the accuracy, robustness, and efficiency of all models.
• Develop back-testing frameworks and performance attribution systems.
• Stay abreast of market developments and regulatory changes.
• Prepare documentation and present findings to stakeholders.
• Oversee maintenance and enhancement of existing models.
• Contribute to strategic planning for the division.
