Placements24 is hiring a Senior Quantitative Analyst for a remote-first analytics team based in Cape Town. You will design and implement advanced models for pricing, risk, and trading strategies, leveraging Python, C++, and R.

You will conduct rigorous statistical analyses on large datasets, collaborate with traders and portfolio managers, and mentor junior analysts as the team pushes forward in quantitative finance and data science.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quantitative analysis within finance.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or R.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, ML, time series, and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement quantitative models for pricing, risk, and trading strategies.
• Perform rigorous statistical analysis and data mining on large datasets.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders and other analysts to refine models.
• Research new quantitative methodologies and technologies.
• Validate models and monitor performance for improvements.
• Develop efficient code for model implementation and back-testing using Python, R, or C++.
• Communicate complex quantitative concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay updated on trends in quantitative finance and data science.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team knowledge base.
