Job summary

Placements24's client, a leader in advanced manufacturing solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Control Engineer to join a global team in a fully remote role across South Africa. You'll drive quality across manufacturing processes and products.

You will collaborate with R&D, production and supply chain to implement robust quality frameworks, lead Six Sigma and Lean initiatives, analyze data with SPC tools, and mentor junior staff while ensuring ISO 9001 compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 5 years in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in manufacturing.
Proven experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Strong knowledge of SPC, RCA and FMEA.
Proficiency with data analysis tools (Minitab, Excel, JMP).
Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
Experience with remote work and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and procedures.
Conduct internal audits for ISO 9001 compliance.
Analyze production data to identify trends and root causes of defects using SPC.
Lead Six Sigma and Lean initiatives for continuous improvement.
Oversee calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material quality.
Prepare quality reports and present to management and teams.
Investigate complaints and non-conformances, implement corrective actions.
Train and mentor junior QC staff on best practices.
