Job summary

You will build RESTful APIs, optimize PostgreSQL/MySQL databases, implement security, and collaborate with frontend and product teams. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions while delivering high-performance backend systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
• 5+ years of backend development experience with Python and Django
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Strong SQL database design and optimization experience
• Familiarity with frontend tech (React)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Docker
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and message queues (Celery, RabbitMQ)
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote team environment

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python code using Django
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs for frontend and third-party integrations
• Manage relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) ensuring data integrity and performance
• Implement security and data protection measures in backend
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests
• Collaborate with frontend, product managers, and stakeholders to define features
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices
• Contribute to architectural discussions and backend standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Mentor junior backend engineers and foster technical growth
