Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and Django. The role focuses on RESTful APIs, robust databases, and secure data practices, collaborating with frontend, product, and design teams in a remote-first setup.

The ideal candidate has strong Python/Django experience, solid SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL/MySQL), and familiarity with cloud and containerization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong backend development experience with Python and Django.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and Django.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs for frontend and third-party integrations.
• Manage database schemas and queries (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Ensure security and data protection in backend systems.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and design teams to implement solutions.
• Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code and perform code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and upgrade existing systems; stay updated on backend tech.
