LexisNexis Legal & Professional in Johannesburg is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth across government departments, regulators, and state-owned enterprises. You will lead complex sales opportunities and coach sales professionals across the public‑sector team.

This is a senior individual-contributor role with no direct people-management responsibilities, requiring strong skills in procurement navigation and stakeholder engagement to win long-cycle public sector

Qualifications

Extensive B2B sales experience with a track record of public-sector revenue growth.
Experience selling to government, state-owned enterprises, or public institutions.
Knowledge of public-sector procurement, tenders, and budgeting cycles.
Experience in technology, legal tech, enterprise software, or information services.

Responsibilities

Drive revenue growth across government departments, regulators and state-owned enterprises.
Lead complex, high-value government sales opportunities and negotiations.
Build strategic relationships with government departments, regulators and public institutions.
Navigate public-sector procurement processes, tenders and long sales cycles.
Coach Account Managers and Business Development Managers to strengthen sales execution.
Manage pipeline quality, opportunity qualification and revenue forecasting.
Partner with internal teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, pricing and governance.
