Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil or Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or a related built-environment discipline.
- 6–10 years' progressive experience in project planning and scheduling, with at least 3 years' experience in a Senior or Lead Planner role.
- Experience working on complex, high-value projects, preferably projects exceeding R100 million in construction value.
- Expert proficiency in Primavera P6, including advanced scheduling, resource levelling and cost-loaded schedule management.
- Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling and project controls.
- Experience developing and maintaining integrated master schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out activities.
- Experience with resource-loaded and cost-loaded project schedules.
- Strong knowledge of critical path analysis, schedule risk, programme recovery and progress tracking.
- Demonstrated experience with delay analysis, including TIA, IAP, CAB, APAB and Windows Analysis.
- Experience with Extension of Time (EOT) claims and programme-related contractual matters.
- Thorough knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and project controls.
- Knowledge of programme and contractual requirements under at least two standard forms of contract, such as NEC3/4, FIDIC, JBCC or GCC.
- Experience managing and integrating multi-discipline and multi-contractor programmes.
- Proven experience leading, supervising and mentoring junior and intermediate planners.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel to and work at project sites nationally and regionally.

- AACE International Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification.
- PMI-SP or PMP certification.
- CIOB-accredited qualification or MCIOB membership.
- Experience as a planning expert witness or programme evidence provider in adjudication or arbitration proceedings.
- Experience with Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk or Oracle Crystal Ball, including Monte Carlo simulation.
- Experience with 4D BIM scheduling tools and integrated BIM/planning workflows.
- International or multi-jurisdictional project experience, including FIDIC contract environments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and scheduling function across assigned projects.
- Develop, implement and maintain integrated project programmes and master schedules.
- Develop schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out activities.
- Develop and maintain resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.
- Update and maintain project programmes using Primavera P6.
- Monitor actual project progress against approved baselines and identify schedule deviations, delays and critical path impacts.
- Perform critical path analysis and provide recommendations for programme recovery.
- Prepare and maintain short-, medium- and long-term project schedules.
- Track project milestones, key deliverables and contractual deadlines.
- Monitor labour, equipment, materials and subcontractor requirements against project programmes.
- Integrate schedules across multiple disciplines, contractors and project interfaces.
- Review and monitor contractor, subcontractor and supplier programmes.
- Compile weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and schedule updates.
- Monitor and report on project controls and Earned Value Management (EVM) performance.
- Identify potential schedule risks and assist with the development of mitigation and recovery plans.
- Conduct and prepare delay analyses using recognised methodologies such as TIA, IAP, CAB, APAB and Windows Analysis.
- Assist with the preparation and management of EOT and prolongation claims.
- Review contractor and subcontractor programmes and time-related claims.
- Ensure compliance with contractual programme obligations under relevant contract forms.
- Coordinate planning information with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial Teams, Procurement, Contractors and other stakeholders.
- Develop and manage integrated procurement and design schedules, including long-lead items and key approval milestones.
- Lead, mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate planners.
- Conduct schedule reviews, programme audits and quality checks.
- Attend and lead project planning, progress and schedule alignment meetings.
- Provide management with advice on schedule risk, critical path exposure, programme recovery and forecast completion dates.
- Maintain accurate project planning documentation, progress records and schedule reports.
- Assist with project controls, progress measurement and performance reporting.
- Provide planning support for tenders, fee proposals and business development activities where required.
- Ensure project schedules remain aligned with project objectives, contractual obligations and client requirements.
- Maintain compliance with company procedures and relevant industry standards.
- Perform any additional planning and project control duties as required by Management.
