Job summary

Zecutive Consultants in Gauteng seeks an experienced Primavera Planner to manage and maintain project schedules in mining, power & infrastructure sectors. You will coordinate with stakeholders, ensure progress reporting, and manage interdependencies across complex projects.

The role requires 4-6+ years of Primavera P6 experience, strong MS Projects skills, and bilingual English-Afrikaans communication. On-site work with potential site travel and accommodation arrangements are part of the role.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years Primavera planning experience in mining/power/infra sectors.
• Experience planning large construction and feasibility phases.
• Primavera P6 and MS Projects knowledge essential.
• Fluent in English; good Afrikaans understanding.

Responsibilities

• Plan and set up project schedules with stakeholders using Primavera and MS Projects.
• Follow planning processes and company procedures on all projects.
• Ensure consistent and reliable progress reporting.
• Highlight deviations and provide planning advice to the Project Manager.
• Implement planning logic and understand interdependencies.
• Identify critical path and resource loading issues.
• Track baseline vs actual progress on schedules.
• Raise early warnings on risks affecting schedule.
• Weekly schedule progress reporting to internal/external parties.
• Assist subcontractors to align schedules and progress reports.
• On-site time as required by project phase.

Duties & Responsibilities

Working in the Project Consulting environment, manage and maintain project schedule by:

• Planning and setting up of project schedule with project stakeholders’ input using Primavera and/or MS projects
• Following project planning processes and company procedure on all assigned projects
• Ensure consistency and reliable progress reporting
• Highlight any deviation within the programme to the Project Manager, and assist with innovative and appropriate planning advice
• Implement planning logic, understanding inter dependencies and knock-on effects
• Highlight critical path and resource loading issues
• Track baseline vs actual progress on schedules
• Highlight risks to ensure project completion on time - raise early warnings with possible impacts to project schedule
• Weekly reporting to internal and external parties by means of schedule updates and progress reporting
• Assist subcontractors, align, and integrate project schedules and progress reports
• The role/s require time on site either part of the week/month, or full time on-site, based on the project phase

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Related qualification
• 4-6+ years’ Primavera Planning experience in the mining/power plants and/or infrastructure industries
• Experience in a similar role, planning of large construction and feasibility phases of projects
• Primavera P6 and MS Projects knowledge essential
• Sound Understanding of installation projects in Power Plants / infrastructure construction / mining environments
• Consulting experience highly recommended
• Driven ‘Can-do’ attitude, with a passion for mega project planning
• Process orientated and assertive to ensure that complex projects are executed in accordance with company established practices and safety requirements
• Able to work under pressure and to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of the outputs
• Analytical thinker, energetic and flexible
• Must be fluent in English and have a good understanding of Afrikaans to communicate effectively in bilingual meetings.
• Willing to travel to project sites – own transport and valid driver’s license essential
• Must be medically fit to work on mining/construction sites

Package & Remuneration

Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. Client provides on-site accommodation and pays for travel expenses to site

Possibly renewable contracts on short to medium term projects
