Job summary

Prommac in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Project Planner to manage integrated construction schedules across complex industrial projects, with emphasis on piping fabrication, mechanical equipment installation and structural steel erection.

You will work with project managers, engineers and site teams to keep activities aligned with milestones, maintain schedule integrity, produce look-ahead schedules, and present practical schedule information to support safe, efficient delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years’ experience in construction planning.
• Experience in petrochemical, oil & gas or heavy industrial projects.
• Proven ability to plan piping, mechanical, and structural scopes.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Proficiency with NEC contracts frameworks.
• Experience in live plant environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction schedules for piping fabrication and installation.
• Plan mechanical equipment installation and structural steel erection activities.
• Maintain integrated schedules using Primavera P6 and other recognised planning tools.
• Monitor actual construction progress against approved project schedules and milestones.
• Identify schedule risks, constraints, delays and potential impacts on project delivery.
• Prepare short-term look-ahead schedules to guide construction teams and site priorities.
• Compile progress reports, schedule updates and performance analyses for project stakeholders.
• Coordinate planning inputs with project managers, supervisors and relevant construction disciplines.
• Maintain alignment between project schedules, contractual milestones and NEC contract requirements.
• Support safe sequencing and efficient execution in live plant and construction environments.
