Job summary

Network Contracting Solutions seeks an Engineering Project Planner to drive integrated schedules for LNG, oil & gas and energy infrastructure projects in South Africa. You will coordinate across engineering, procurement, regulatory, commercial and construction teams to ensure milestones are achieved.

The role requires 3–12 years of planning experience, strong knowledge of EPC/EPCM, and proficiency with MS Project and Excel. Travel to project sites will be required.

Qualifications

• 3–12 years of project planning and scheduling experience.
• Experience within energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, infrastructure or process plant environments.
• Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM project execution, construction sequencing and project controls.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, technical specifications and equipment schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated master project schedules, including work breakdown structures, milestones, dependencies and critical path analysis.
• Monitor project progress, identify schedule risks and delays, and implement mitigation and recovery plans where required.
• Track engineering, regulatory, commercial and financial deliverables required to meet key project milestones.
• Coordinate procurement schedules, RFQ processes, contractor programmes and long-lead equipment tracking.
• Support construction planning, commissioning and handover activities across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Prepare progress reports, dashboards, forecasts and management updates on project performance.

Job Experience & Skills Required / Ideal Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

• National Diploma, BTech/BEngTech, BEng/BSc (Engineering), Construction Management or Project Management qualification.
• Mechanical or Process Engineering background advantageous.

Experience:

• 3-12 years of project planning and scheduling experience depending on seniority level.
• Experience within energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, infrastructure or process plant environments.
• Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM project execution, construction sequencing and project controls.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, technical specifications and equipment schedules.

Skills:

• Advanced MS Project or equivalent project planning software proficiency.
• Strong Excel, reporting and schedule forecasting capabilities.
• Knowledge of critical path analysis, float management, progress measurement and schedule risk management.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, coordination and communication skills.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
