The role emphasizes hands‑on work at our Stellenbosch facility, applying CAD tools and simulations to ensure robust, manufacturable designs and successful prototype validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor) and basic understanding of simulation tools.
• Familiarity with materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Passion for renewable energy and sustainable technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and systems for renewable energy applications (e.g., solar, wind).
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and assemblies for manufacturing.
• Perform mechanical analysis, including stress, thermal, and dynamic simulations, to validate designs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including electrical and software engineers, on system integration.
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation of new mechanical designs.
• Document designs, specifications, and test results according to industry best practices and project requirements.
