Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to renewable energy projects with a flexible remote setup, supporting operations in Paarl. You will design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems for solar, wind, or other energy solutions while collaborating with a remote team.

The role requires 3–5 years in mechanical design, CAD proficiency, and knowledge of FEA/CFD tools, with strong communication skills for cross-functional work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably renewable energy.
• Proficiency in CAD software and FEA/CFD simulation tools.
• Understanding of structural mechanics and materials science.
• Experience with project documentation and BOM management.
• Strong remote communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for renewable energy installations.
• Conduct structural and thermal analysis and run performance simulations.
• Specify materials and components, ensuring compliance with requirements.
• Create detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with remote teams including electrical engineers and project managers.
• Support testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
