Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Project Manager for Stellenbosch, Western Cape, to lead strategic initiatives and capital projects in the wine and agribusiness sector. You will collaborate with viticulture, winemaking, marketing and operations teams to drive growth and operational excellence.

The role demands 8+ years in project management within agribusiness or food processing, with a track record of delivering new product development, facility expansions, or supply chain improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, Food Science, Business Management, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in project management in agribusiness, food processing or wine.
• Experience with new product development, operational upgrades, facility expansions or supply chain improvements.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall PM methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in PM software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Experience with QA and regulatory compliance in food/beverage.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment (office + remote).
• Deep knowledge of Stellenbosch/Western Cape agricultural landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution and closure of projects in wine and agribusiness domains.
• Develop detailed project plans: scope, budgets, timelines, resources, risks.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Manage resources to ensure optimal utilization.
• Implement PM best practices for quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and mitigate issues.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, food safety and environmental guidelines.
• Communicate status and milestones to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement in PM processes.
