• Proven large-scale cloud migration experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong IT infrastruture knowledge: servers, networks, storage, cybersecurity.
• Familiar with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.
• Experience leading remote IT project teams.
• PM/ITIL/AWS/Azure certifications desirable.

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing technology services firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead critical IT infrastructure and cloud migration projects. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to work from any location within South Africa. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects, including data center migrations, cloud adoptions (AWS, Azure, GCP), network upgrades, and cybersecurity initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in IT infrastructure, combined with proven experience managing complex, high-stakes projects and leading distributed teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple IT infrastructure and cloud migration projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed task breakdowns, resource allocation, risk assessments, and communication strategies.
• Oversee the execution of cloud migration strategies, working closely with cloud engineers and architects.
• Manage relationships with internal IT teams, external vendors, and clients, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration.
• Identify potential project risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation plans.
• Ensure projects comply with IT security best practices and relevant industry regulations.
• Track project progress, manage dependencies, and provide regular, clear status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members involved in IT projects.
• Drive process improvements within the IT project management function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years specifically focused on infrastructure and cloud migration projects.
• Proven experience managing large-scale cloud migrations (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage, and cybersecurity.
• Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
• Demonstrated experience leading remote IT project teams.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
• Must reside in South Africa and be comfortable working in a fully remote capacity.
