Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead IT infrastructure and cloud migration projects in Pretoria. You will manage planning, execution and delivery of initiatives spanning server deployments, network upgrades and cloud adoption to modernize the client’s technology stack.

The role requires a strong technical background and excellent PM skills to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders, delivering on IT objectives across the Gauteng region.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in project management focusing on IT infrastructure, networks or cloud tech.
• Experience managing server virtualization, data center migrations or cloud implementations.
• Solid ITIL knowledge and best practices for service management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end IT infrastructure and cloud projects within scope, budget and timeline.

• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead critical IT infrastructure and cloud migration projects in Pretoria. This role is essential for modernizing our client's technological backbone, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure systems. You will manage the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects involving network upgrades, server deployments, and cloud adoption initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background combined with excellent project management skills, capable of working effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders to achieve strategic IT objectives within the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT infrastructure and cloud projects, ensuring successful delivery according to scope, budget, and timeline.
• Develop detailed project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, resource requirements, and key milestones.
• Coordinate activities of internal technical teams, third-party vendors, and service providers involved in project execution.
• Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
• Oversee the procurement and deployment of IT hardware, software, and cloud services.
• Communicate project status, updates, and potential challenges effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in project management , with a focus on IT infrastructure, networks, or cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven experience managing projects involving server virtualization, data center migrations, or cloud implementations.
• Solid understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices for service management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation capabilities.
• A relevant degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
