Placements24 seeks a seasoned Senior Project Manager to oversee major construction projects in and around Randburg, Gauteng. The role blends on-site leadership with centralized planning, budgeting, and client liaison from a central office or home office.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years in project management for large-scale construction, preferably in energy infrastructure, with strong skills in MS Project/Primavera P6, budgeting, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 8+ years PM experience, 5+ in large-scale construction.
• Experience in energy infrastructure sectors (power plants, substations, transmission).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
• Proficient in MS Project and Primavera P6.
• Excellent financial acumen and budgeting experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel.
• Professional registration (Pr.Eng/Pr.CM) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of construction projects from initiation to closure.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the energy infrastructure development sector, is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to oversee critical construction projects in and around Randburg, Gauteng . This hybrid role requires a leader who can effectively manage on-site construction activities while also handling project planning, financial oversight, and client relations from a central office or home office environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects, ideally within the power generation, transmission, or distribution sectors. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Excellent financial acumen and experience managing large project budgets.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr.Eng, Pr.CM) is highly desirable.
