Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for Rustenburg to lead complex mining and energy infrastructure projects end-to-end. You will plan, execute, and monitor projects, balancing cost, schedule and quality while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

The role requires 8+ years in project engineering/management, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with MS Project or Primavera P6. A hybrid work arrangement is offered to balance site and office duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical).
• 8+ years of progressive experience in project engineering or management.
• Experience in mining or energy infrastructure projects preferred.
• Contract administration experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a prominent contractor specializing in large-scale mining and energy infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for their operations in Rustenburg . This role involves managing complex projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for overseeing project planning, execution, resource allocation, and risk management, with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing demanding projects in challenging environments within the North West province. This is a leadership position offering significant responsibility and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the execution of mining and energy infrastructure projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements.
• Oversee site operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Manage project risks, identify potential issues and implement mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project engineering or management, preferably within mining or energy sectors.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Experience with contract administration and claims management is advantageous.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing site and office responsibilities.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Rustenburg , North West .
