Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to lead capital projects at a chemical plant in Randburg. You will manage the full project lifecycle from concept through commissioning, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and top safety and quality standards.

This role requires hands-on leadership and strong collaboration with engineering teams, vendors, and regulators. The ideal candidate has a chemical or mechanical engineering degree and at least six years of project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years of project management in chemical/process industries.
• Experience with capital projects, including P&ID, equipment specs, procurement.
• Strong knowledge of chemical plant operations, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Proficient with project management software such as MS Project and Primavera.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple chemical plant projects from initiation to closure.
• Define project scopes, budgets, and execution plans.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and regulators.
• Ensure compliance with specs, safety regs, and environmental standards.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigations.
• Conduct technical reviews and inspections throughout the lifecycle.
