Job summary

Placements24 seeks a seasoned Chemical Plant Manager to lead a Randburg facility. You will drive strategic direction, operational efficiency, safety and financial performance, while guiding engineers, technicians and staff toward excellence and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has a chemical engineering background, 10+ years in plant ops with 5+ years in leadership, and a proven record of safety programs and P&L management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical field; MBA is a plus.
• 10+ years in chemical plant operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Proven track record in plant P&L, operational improvements, and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of plant operations including production, maintenance, safety and environmental compliance.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to meet production targets, improve efficiency and control costs.
• Lead, mentor and develop the plant management and operational teams.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture.
• Manage the plant budget, capex and resource allocation; liaise with HQ, regulators and stakeholders.
