Job summary

Placements24 is hiring a Project Engineer to lead the construction and commissioning of new chemical plant facilities in Benoni, Gauteng. You will oversee all phases from planning through completion, ensuring on-time delivery within budget while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires a chemical engineering degree and 7+ years in project engineering or management, with strong scheduling and cost-control skills. A hybrid work arrangement is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in project engineering or project management, preferably in chemical plant construction.
• Experience managing capital projects from design through commissioning.
• Familiarity with MS Project and cost control techniques.

Responsibilities

• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resources from inception to closeout.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, contractors, and suppliers for seamless execution.
• Oversee site activities ensuring safety, permits and environmental compliance.
• Develop and manage project documentation including progress reports and risk assessments.
• Lead commissioning and start-up activities for new plant equipment and processes.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues impacting objectives.
