Job summary

Chainlink Recruitment is seeking an experienced Product Support Specialist to provide advanced technical support for mining automation, software and control systems in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. You will troubleshoot complex systems, support engineering teams and drive system improvements to ensure equipment reliability and performance.

Ideal candidates have a national diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering (Control & Instrumentation preferred) and 10+ years in senior technical roles with PLC,

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, preferably Control & Instrumentation.
• Proven experience in senior technical roles with strong electrical/electronic systems knowledge.
• Advanced PLC and drive experience with mining equipment controls.
• Strong SQL, data extraction and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and commission hardware, software and control systems on mining equipment and fixed plants.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and support PLCs, drives, HMI systems, networks and automation software.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, analysis and reporting.
• Investigate software bugs, control system abnormalities and equipment performance issues.
• Provide technical support during breakdowns, fault-finding and system recovery.
• Coordinate and lead technical projects, system upgrades, retrofits and commissioning activities.
• Liaise with OEMs, suppliers, technical specialists, engineering teams and customers to resolve complex technical issues.
• Identify system improvements and implement approved technical modifications.
• Prepare accurate Field Service Reports documenting work performed and technical findings.
• Provide technical guidance and training to engineering support teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental and operational standards.
