Placements24 is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to enhance automation at its mining facilities near Rustenburg. You will design, program, and commission PLC/SCADA systems, develop control logic, and ensure safe, efficient operation in a challenging industrial environment.

You will collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers and provide on-site training and support to operations teams, driving continuous improvement in mining automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.
• Experience in mining or heavy industry preferred.
• Proficiency with PLC programming and SCADA/HMI software; familiarity with Profibus/Ethernet/IP.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS) for mining equipment and processes.
• Develop and maintain control logic, HMI interfaces, and data acquisition systems.
• Troubleshoot automation issues to minimize production downtime.
