Placements24 is seeking a Lead Process Safety Engineer for our client in Soweto, Gauteng. You will drive the development and continuous improvement of process safety management systems, lead hazard analyses, and ensure regulatory compliance across operations.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate audits, and champion a strong safety culture while safeguarding people, assets, and the environment through robust risk assessments and change management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of process safety engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading PHAs and risk assessments.
• Familiarity with South African safety legislation and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement Process Safety Management programs.
• Conduct PHAs (HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA) and risk assessments.
• Oversee SIL assessments and MOC processes.
• Audit facilities and review safety-critical documentation.
