Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion is seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer to strengthen safety protocols across chemical operations. You will lead risk assessments, oversee PHAs, and drive regulatory compliance to protect people and assets.

The role requires a chemical engineering degree, 8+ years in process safety, CSP is desirable, and leadership in a collaborative safety team. Flexible working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related safety discipline.
• 8+ years of process safety experience in chemical/petrochemical industries.
• Knowledge of PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, SIS and PSM elements.
• CSP certification desirable.
• Experience with safety software for consequence modeling and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead PHAs such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop and maintain process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses for safety-related events.
• Ensure compliance with local and international process safety regulations and standards.
• Provide technical expertise and training on process safety to engineers and operational staff.
• Review engineering designs and P&IDs for safety before construction or modification.
