Placements24 in Centurion is seeking a highly experienced Lead Chemical Engineer with a specialization in Process Safety to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of process safety management systems across our manufacturing facilities.

This senior role requires a deep understanding of chemical processes, with exceptional leadership to influence stakeholders and champion safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive chemical engineering experience with a significant focus on process safety.
• Demonstrated expertise in PHAs and other risk assessment methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of national and international process safety standards and regulations.
• Proven leadership experience in managing safety teams or critical safety projects.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive process safety programs and procedures.
• Conduct PHAs such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices for chemical facilities.
• Provide expert technical guidance on process safety to engineering, operations, and management teams.
• Develop and deliver training on process safety principles and procedures to employees at all levels.
