Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Safety Engineer in Centurion to drive hazard analysis, risk assessment, and robust safety management across oil and gas operations. You will coordinate PHAs (HAZOP/What-If/LOPA), implement MOC and PSSRs, and strengthen process safety performance.

The role requires a bachelor’s in chemical engineering and at least 6 years of experience in process safety, with strong regulatory knowledge and proven ability to lead safety improvements and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• At least 6 years of process safety experience in petrochemical/oil and gas.
• Strong knowledge of hazard assessment methods and safety systems design.

Responsibilities

• Conduct PHAs including HAZOP, What-If, and FMEA for facilities.
• Develop and implement safety procedures, MOC protocols, and PSSRs.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and identify root causes.
• Ensure compliance with process safety regulations and standards.
• Maintain safety documentation such as SCE lists and mechanical integrity programs.
• Promote safety culture through training and site engagement.
