About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize complex energy process systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage integration.
• Perform process simulations and modeling using industry-standard software to predict performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in existing energy facilities, implementing corrective actions to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including R&D, operations, and project management, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including P&IDs, equipment specifications, and operating procedures.

• Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in the Energy sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in process engineering, specifically within the Energy industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in process design, simulation (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS), and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and grid integration challenges.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with HAZOP studies and process safety management is a significant advantage.
• Residency or willingness to relocate to the Midrand, Gauteng area.
