Job summary

thyssenkrupp Uhde South Africa is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join the Process Engineering Department. The successful candidate will lead or participate in design reviews, PFDs, P&IDs, and project schedules, interfacing with clients on complex chemical and energy projects.

Requirements include a BSc in Chemical Engineering with 12–15 years of engineering experience, at least 8 years in contracting, and Professional Registration with ECSA.

Qualifications

• BSc. Chemical Engineering degree with 12–15 years engineering experience.
• Minimum 8 years in contracting environment working on energy and chemical/refining/petrochemical projects.
• Professional Registration with ECSA is required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with the client as part of the owner's team.
• Perform lead engineer role on projects.
• Lead or participate in PFD and P&ID Reviews, HAZOP and SIL reviews.
• Participate in 3D model and constructability reviews.
• Manage manpower planning and project schedules for the process team.
• Develop Scope of Work / Works Information for services and management of consultants.
• Develop process design deliverables including process flow, mass & energy balances, and utility balances.
