Job summary

thyssenkrupp Uhde South Africa is seeking a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer with 12-15 years of experience, including 8 years in contracting in the energy and chemical industries. You will lead design activities, coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and ensure delivery to scope, quality and schedule.

The role requires a BSc in Civil Engineering, Professional Registration with ECSA, and proven experience as a lead engineer on major projects, including visibility on at least

Qualifications

12-15 years engineering experience, with at least 8 years in contracting environments
Experience as a lead engineer on large projects in energy and chemical/refining/petrochemical industries
Professional Registration with ECSA is required

Responsibilities

Interact with clients and act as part of the owner's team
Perform lead engineer responsibilities and manpower planning
Manage project schedules and scope of work for service providers
Prepare scope of work and information for consultants to meet scope, quality and schedule
Deliver projects within schedule and budget
Develop project standards, engineering and technical specifications
Review PFDs, P&IDs, and constructability, and coordinate with other disciplines
Interpret MFDs and P&IDs and prepare design criteria
