Job summary

Placements24 is actively recruiting a highly experienced Senior Process Chemist for its Chemical Manufacturing division. This fully remote role suits professionals who excel in independent, results-driven environments and want to optimize manufacturing processes from anywhere.

You will lead development of new synthesis routes, ensure scalable and safe production, and collaborate with R&D and production teams to drive process improvements and operational excellence across projects.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MSc in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process chemistry or related industries.
• Strong background in organic synthesis, reaction mechanisms, and scale-up.
• Experience with SPC and process optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent remote communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Optimize and troubleshoot existing chemical synthesis processes to improve yield, purity, and efficiency.
• Develop novel, scalable, and cost-effective synthetic routes for new chemical products.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety improvements.
• Collaborate remotely with R&D, engineering, and production teams to ensure seamless process scale-up.
• Analyze process data using statistical tools to identify areas for improvement.
• Contribute to the development of process documentation, SOPs, and batch records.
