Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Power Systems for a leading energy organisation in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead design efforts for large-scale energy projects, delivering compliant electrical systems for generation, transmission, and distribution.

The role requires at least 8 years in electrical design, proficiency with ETAP/PSS/E, and strong leadership to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems.
• At least 8 years of experience in electrical design engineering focusing on power systems in the energy sector.
• Experience conducting power system studies using industry-standard software (ETAP/PSS/E).
• Strong knowledge of electrical equipment, protection systems, and grid codes.

Responsabilités

• Lead electrical design for power systems projects including substations, transmission lines, and generation facilities.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, stability, protection coordination) using ETAP or PSS/E.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, generators, and motors.
