Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale power generation infrastructure projects in Port Elizabeth. You will oversee end-to-end delivery from conception to commissioning, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with top safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project management, with at least 5 years in power generation, PMP preferred, and strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in project management
• 5+ years managing power generation projects (thermal, hydro, renewable)
• PMP certification desirable
• Knowledge of project finance, contracts and procurement in energy
• Strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of power generation projects from scope definition to commissioning.
• Lead project teams including engineers, contractors and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement project plans, risk management strategies, and quality control procedures.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions to stay on track.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards and contractual obligations.
• Manage stakeholder relationships including clients, regulators and community representatives.
