Placements24 is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale power generation infrastructure projects in Port Elizabeth. You will oversee end-to-end delivery from conception to commissioning, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with top safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project management, with at least 5 years in power generation, PMP preferred, and strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead significant power generation infrastructure projects in Port Elizabeth . This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of large-scale energy projects, from conception and planning through execution and commissioning. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership capabilities, a proven track record in managing complex capital projects, and extensive knowledge of the power generation industry, contributing to the region's energy security and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of power generation projects, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Manage project teams, including engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, risk management strategies, and quality control procedures.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and contractual obligations.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, regulatory bodies, and community representatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) or a related field; Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years specifically managing power generation projects (e.g., thermal, hydro, renewable).
• Proven expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP certification highly desirable).
• Strong understanding of project finance, contract negotiation, and procurement processes in the energy sector.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary projects with significant budgets.
