Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong focus on Power Distribution for our client in Port Elizabeth. The role combines design, analysis, and implementation of electrical distribution systems across commercial and industrial facilities, with hybrid in-office and remote work.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in distribution design, proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP and PSS/E, and a PE credential or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical power distribution system design.
• PE registration or eligibility is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical distribution systems including substations, switchgear and transformers.
• Perform load calculations, fault current analysis and protection coordination studies.
• Ensure compliance with national and local codes (SANS, NRS) and project standards.
• Develop diagrams, wiring details and equipment specifications.
• Collaborate with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to define project requirements.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning and review vendor submittals.
• Mentor junior engineers on power distribution projects.
