Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Randburg to lead power distribution design across commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The role focuses on concept design, detailed drawings, and coordination with MEP disciplines, ensuring compliance with SANS/NEC/IEC standards.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in electrical design and is proficient with AutoCAD Electrical and Revit MEP, plus ETAP or DIgSILENT knowledge.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering design with emphasis on power distribution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Revit MEP; familiarity with ETAP/DIgSILENT.

Mansioni

• Lead the electrical design process for power distribution from concept to detailed design documents.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, protective device coordination, and arc flash analyses.
• Develop detailed electrical drawings (single-line diagrams, panel schedules, layouts) using CAD software.
• Specify equipment such as switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, and cabling.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS, NEC, IEC and other standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for design intent compliance.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to verify installation quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices.
