Placements24 in Vereeniging, Gauteng is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead urban development and infrastructure initiatives. You will oversee planning, execution, and delivery of housing, public spaces, and essential upgrades, coordinating across disciplines and with government bodies.

The ideal candidate brings a Civil/Urban planning background, 7+ years of project management experience, strong stakeholder skills, and proficiency in MS Project or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of project management experience in urban development, infrastructure, or construction.
• Experience managing multi-million rand budgets (e.g., R5 million+).
• Strong knowledge of urban planning, zoning regulations, and construction methods.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience with FIDIC or standard contracts is advantageous.
• Proficient in PM software (MS Project, AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of environmental impact assessments and sustainable practices.
• Experience working in Gauteng and ability to work in hybrid mode.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of urban development and infrastructure projects.
• Oversee planning: scope, feasibility, budgeting, scheduling.
• Coordinate with urban planners, architects, engineers.
• Manage construction activities per design and safety regs.
• Liaise with municipalities and government for permits.
• Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, implement corrective actions.
• Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with quality and sustainability.
• Prepare project reports, financial updates, stakeholder communications.
• Champion community engagement and project benefits to locals.
