Placements24 in Soweto is recruiting a Senior Project Manager to lead significant oil and gas infrastructure projects. You will oversee planning, procurement, construction and commissioning, with a focus on safety, quality and environmental compliance while guiding multi‑discipline teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, 10+ years in project management, PMP is desirable, and proven experience delivering projects with budgets over R100

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related) or Construction Management is required.
• PMP certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with substantial oil and gas infrastructure exposure.
• Proven history of managing projects with budgets exceeding R100 million.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, contract management, and procurement processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of oil and gas infrastructure projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Oversee project teams, including engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, to ensure effective collaboration.
• Implement robust risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential project issues.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
• Manage project finances, track costs, and report on project status to senior management.
