Job summary

MyCareerCraft is seeking a Senior Electrical & Automation Technician PLC to join our Port Elizabeth manufacturing facility. The role focuses on electrical and automation maintenance, PLC programming, and robotics support to maximize equipment availability and production performance.

The ideal candidate brings an electrical/automation background, hands-on PLC experience, and a track record in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (NQF 6)
8 years experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong PLC and robotics experience

Responsibilities

Perform reactive, planned, and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on production machinery.
Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring breakdowns.
Maintain and program PLCs and robotic systems.
Ensure all maintenance tasks are properly recorded and closed.
Support production teams with electrical and technical expertise.
Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.
Assist in controlling maintenance costs and reducing waste.
Compliance - identify and report risks.
Provide ad hoc technical support throughout the factory.
Provide electrical maintenance and technical support in a manufacturing environment to ensure high equipment availability, safety, and production performance.
