Job summary

Interwaste (Pty) Ltd in Delmas is seeking a seasoned Senior Plant Operator (Shift Worker) to ensure safe, compliant operation of our effluent treatment and process plants, including RO, evaporators, scrubbers and DAF.

You will lead a small team, monitor equipment and product quality, manage maintenance, and enforce health and safety standards in line with ISO and client requirements. A National Diploma/B-Tech in Chemical Engineering and at least 5 years in similar plants are required.

Qualifications

• Chemical Engineering National Diploma or B-Tech in Engineering required.
• 5 years in Effluent Treatment Plant or chemical production plants.
• Valid Driving Licence required.
• Ability to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operations of plant equipment (neutralisers, evaporators, cooling towers, RO, strippers, scrubbers, DAF, pumps, press filter).
• Oversee quality of final product and compliance with procedures and PPE rules.
• Lead plant operators to ensure safe, optimized production and adherence to laws and policies.
• Troubleshoot and identify unsafe conditions and deviations in processes.
• Monitor and optimize plant and equipment utilization and maintenance.
