Job summary

Elchemie in the Helderberg area of Cape Town is seeking a experienced Process Supervisor to oversee unit processes, ensure compliance, and drive process optimization.

You will supervise wastewater treatment and MBR operations, analyze SCADA trends, and mentor the operations team while maintaining ISO/Green Drop standards.

The role requires registered Class V Process Controller, 6+ years of experience, and a proven track record in safety and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree or National Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
• DWS registration as Class V Process Controller.
• 6 years' wastewater treatment and MBR operations, with 2+ years in a supervisory capacity.
• Expertise in wastewater chemistry, SCADA, PLC-controlled equipment, and root-cause troubleshooting.
• Driver's license (Code B/EB) and own vehicle.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Clear criminal record.
• Medically fit for site medical assessment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise unit processes across liquid and solids handling systems.
• Conduct daily inspections and coordinate with Plant Manager.
• Monitor wastewater analyses and implement process changes.
• Drive continuous improvement and loss minimization through dosing adjustments.
• Maintain operational registers and prepare monthly/adhoc reports.
