Job summary

The Key Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Process Controller based in Hermanus/Overstrand Area, Western Cape. You will monitor and control wastewater treatment plant operations, review logs, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Role requires relevant qualifications, strong plant knowledge, and ability to read manuals and operate in a safety-conscious environment. This position emphasizes reliability and sustainable plant management.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Science is required.
• NQF3 Operator Certificate in Water and Waste Treatment is required.
• 4 years' experience at a class C works or higher treatment plant.
• Registered at least as a Class 3 Process Controller with the Department of Water & Sanitation.
• Must read and apply operation manuals to plants and ensure safe, efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, record and report plant activities and breakdowns on registers and logbooks.
• Control plant tasks and activities according to procedures.
• Collect and analyse samples per quality standards.
• Assist with installation, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plants or bulk networks.
• Contribute to safety compliance and housekeeping.
• Attend meetings and participate in operational discussions.

Senior Process Controller – Hermanus/Overstrand Area (Western Cape)

Leading company in providing reliable and uninterrupted water and waste solutions services for the municipal, industrial, and commercial sectors have an opportunity for Senior Process Controllers within the Overstrand Area (based in Hermanus).

Requirements for the position:

• Grade 12 plus maths and physical science.
• NQF3 Operator Certificate in Water and Waste Treatment.
• 4 years relevant experience at a class C works or higher treatment plant.
• Registered at least as a Class 3 Process Controller with the Department of Water & Sanitation.
• The incumbent must have a strong working knowledge of treatment technologies.
• Must be able to read operational manuals and other resources to apply knowledge for the effect, efficient and sustainable management, and operation for treatment plants.
• Computer Literary- In the google workspace tools and experience in cloud computing.
• Valid driver's license.

Main responsibilities (but not limited to these only}:

• Monitor, record and report plant activities and breakdown on registers and logbooks.
• Monitor and control plant tasks and activities according to procedure or instruction.
• Conduct and comply to quality task requirements.
• Collection and analyses of samples according to quality standards and procedures.
• Attend to housekeeping duties.
• Comply to safety procedures and guidelines (Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993).
• Assist and report with work in progress and completion of specialized tasks, activities associated with installation, maintenance and repair of Wastewater treatment plants and or Bulk networks.
• Clean and store equipment and tools.
• Assist with handling of materials and chemicals.
• Participate in operational discussions and meetings.
• Execute tasks as described in the work plan aligned with the Operating and Maintenance manual.
