Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer focused on Plant Operations to join our client in Upington. You will oversee plant machinery operation, safety, and reliability.
Lead maintenance strategies, troubleshoot issues, and manage projects related to upgrades and modifications. CMMS literacy and engineering drawing reading are essential.
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 6+ years of industrial experience are required. Relocation support may be available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical qualification.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in plant operations or mechanical maintenance within an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of industrial machinery, rotating equipment, piping systems, and material handling.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, P&IDs, and maintenance documentation.
- Experience with CMMS and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and leadership skills for managing operations in Upington.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the mechanical aspects of plant operations, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies for plant equipment, including preventative and corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Manage mechanical engineering projects related to plant upgrades, installations, and modifications.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to achieve plant objectives.
