Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer for our engineering client in Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA. The role focuses on design, integrity management, and operational support for pipeline systems transporting oil, gas, and other fluids.

You will ensure safety, reliability, and compliance throughout the pipeline lifecycle, coordinating with project managers, construction teams, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of pipeline engineering experience with design and integrity focus.
• Knowledge of ASME B31 series codes, materials, and construction practices.
• Experience with pipeline integrity management systems and risk-based assessment.
• Proficiency in CAESAR II and PIPESIM.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• On-site and field-oriented work capability.
• Pr. Eng. registration is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of new pipeline systems, including route selection and material specs.
• Develop and implement pipeline integrity management programs.
• Perform stress analysis and fatigue assessments for pipelines.
• Oversee coatings and cathodic protection applications.
• Ensure compliance with national and international design codes.
• Coordinate pipeline construction and commissioning activities.
• Plan pre-commissioning, commissioning, and decommissioning.
• Investigate incidents and anomalies; recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
