Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Offshore Pipeline Engineer to lead design, installation, and integrity management of offshore pipelines from Cape Town, Western Cape. The role demands robust knowledge in fluid dynamics, structural integrity, and regulatory compliance within offshore environments to safely transport hydrocarbons from offshore facilities to onshore terminals.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering with 8+ years of offshore pipeline

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering is required.
Minimum 8 years of progressive offshore pipeline engineering experience.
Experience with design, analysis (FEA, CFD), and installation of offshore pipelines.
Knowledge of DNV, API, and ISO standards is essential.
Familiarity with pipeline integrity management systems and risk-based inspection methodologies.
Strong communication and ability to work under pressure in offshore environments.

Responsibilities

Design offshore pipeline systems including routing, material specs and sizing.
Oversee pipeline installation activities ensuring safety and conformance to design.
Develop and implement pipeline integrity management programs.
Perform hydraulic and stress analyses for pipelines.
Coordinate with contractors and regulatory bodies on interfaces and approvals.
Ensure compliance with international oil and gas codes and regulations.
Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting pipeline integrity and performance.
