Job summary

Placements24 in George, Western Cape, is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, ensure safe and compliant production, and drive efficiency gains across the plant.

The successful candidate will hold a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree with 7+ years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, deep cGMP knowledge, and hands-on experience with process validation, equipment qualification, and sterile production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing engineering.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical manufacturing principles.
• Experience with process validation, equipment qualification, and sterile manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of process control systems and automation.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of new pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and cost while maintaining quality.
• Develop and execute process validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshoot deviations and equipment malfunctions, implementing corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing operations teams.
• Manage equipment installation, qualification, and maintenance programs.
• Conduct process hazard analyses and implement safety improvements.
• Collaborate with QA, R&D, and other departments to support product lifecycle management.
• Stay current with new manufacturing technologies and industry best practices.
