Placements24 seeks a Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to optimize and troubleshoot manufacturing processes in Soweto, Gauteng. The role focuses on improving yield, reducing costs, and ensuring GMP-compliant operations in a highly regulated environment.

The ideal candidate holds a chemical/biochemical/mechanical engineering degree with 4+ years of pharma/biotech experience and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical/Biochemical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of process engineering experience in pharma, biotech, or chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of chemical/biological processes, unit operations, and process control.
• Experience with process validation, scale-up, and technology transfer.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements and regulatory expectations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products.
• Analyze process data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and deviations; implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues; perform root cause analyses and implement solutions.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, batch records, and validation protocols.
• Ensure all processes comply with GMP, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA/QC, and production teams for technology transfer.
