Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Petroleum Geologist for Centurion to contribute to exploration and development efforts. You will interpret seismic, logs and cores, build subsurface models and assess prospects to guide drilling plans.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Geology or related Earth Science and 7+ years of experience, with proficiency in Petrel and GIS. Collaboration with engineers and geophysicists is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geology, Geophysics or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience as a Petroleum Geologist.
• Proficiency in geological interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom Suite) and GIS.
• Strong knowledge of sedimentology, stratigraphy and structural geology.
• Experience in sequence stratigraphy and basin analysis.
• Excellent analytical, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret geological data (seismic, wells, cores) to map reservoirs.
• Develop subsurface models for exploration and field development.
• Evaluate prospects and provide geological assessments.
• Collaborate with geophysicists to integrate seismic with geology.
• Use geological software for data analysis, visualization and reporting.
• Contribute to field development plans and reserves reporting.
