Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer for our client in Bloemfontein, focused on reliability and performance of pumps, turbines, and other rotating machinery. You will specify, install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment on-site to maximize uptime.

The role requires extensive hands-on work, safety compliance, and collaboration with operations and maintenance teams to optimize asset integrity and reliability in a challenging energy environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years in rotating equipment in industrial/energy sectors.
• Experience with pumps, compressors, turbines, generators.
• API standards knowledge desirable.
• Familiarity with CMMS and engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert selection, procurement, and installation support for rotating equipment.
• Develop preventive, predictive, and overhaul maintenance strategies.
• Perform RCFA and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee major overhauls and ensure quality and specs.
• Monitor equipment performance using condition monitoring and data analysis.
• Develop and manage mechanical integrity programs for critical assets.
• Review drawings, specifications, and vendor proposals.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance for safe operation.
• Stay updated with rotating equipment tech and reliability practices.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and safety standards.
