Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer for our Upington operations. The role focuses on the specification, design, installation, and maintenance of rotating machinery including pumps, compressors, and turbines to ensure reliability and optimal performance of critical assets.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience with rotating equipment, strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and vibration analysis, plus experience in predictive

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and vibration analysis.
• Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography).
• Familiarity with API/ASME codes and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Specify, select, and procure rotating equipment based on project requirements and operational needs.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and performance testing of new equipment.
• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies, including predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance teams and operations personnel.
• Review equipment designs and proposals from vendors for compliance and suitability.
