Job summary

Placements24 in East London, Eastern Cape seeks a Senior Petroleum Engineer focused on production optimization to maximize hydrocarbon recovery from existing assets. On-site role requiring collaboration with reservoir engineers, geologists and operations teams to improve efficiency and profitability.

You will diagnose production challenges, apply nodal analysis and production system modeling, and lead EOR initiatives where applicable. Significant experience and leadership will be expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in petroleum engineering with focus on production optimization.
• Proficient in nodal analysis and production system modeling software.
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering, fluid flow and PVT analysis.
• Willingness to work full-time on-site in East London, ZA.

Responsibilities

• Analyze well performance data and diagnose production issues to improve flow.
• Conduct nodal analysis and simulate production systems to optimize lift.
• Develop EOR strategies and coordinate with operations teams.
• Evaluate economics of projects and prepare management reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge with the team.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
